Wedding in Amsterdam

Marieke and Govert don’t do bullshit. They know what they want, when they want it and also exactly how they’ll achieve it. They’re straightforward, lovable, generous and kindhearted (and that was just towards me).

They got married in Amsterdam, which apart from their cat, is their biggest love. Friends and family are very big part of their lives (apart from Oggie the cat, obvi) and after spending a day with them, I can see why! What a loving and kind group of people! I felt so at home and literally did not want to leave.

The day began at their home and from there we caught the train to the centre of Amsterdam. We took some amazing shots along the way. Since they were up for almost anything, I had a blast doing weird and eccentric things in the middle of Amsterdam’s Central station! We made the streets of the Jordaan unsafe, all the while cracking jokes with the wedding party who also joined us on the shoot.

Lunch followed at Restaurant Amsterdam and after short taxi ride we arrived at Level Eleven for the ceremony. And oh man, WHAT A VIEW! The ceremony was held just before sunset, so the space was bathed in golden light for most of the evening. Drinks and a rager of a party followed…a great ending to a day perfectly made for Govert and Marieke, by Govert and Marieke 🙂 xxx Thanks for letting me hang around guys. xxx
