A Small Wedding in Westerpark: Peter & Erik’s Intimate Celebration of Love
When love is this pure, no grand production is needed. Peter and Erik's small wedding in Westerpark was a gentle, joyful, and deeply meaningful celebration—one that reminded me of the power of connection, even in the simplest of settings.
Set against the stylish backdrop of Conscious Hotel in Amsterdam's Westerpark, Peter and Erik prepared for their day surrounded by their closest family and friends. The energy in the room was quiet but full—full of anticipation, of love, and a touch of nerves that always makes the moment feel real.
What made their ceremony unforgettable was that they chose not to see each other beforehand. Instead, they both walked down the aisle, locking eyes for the first time as grooms. The emotion in that moment? Unmistakable. Their love—kind, gentle, and incredibly funny—was felt by everyone there.
The wedding was intentionally small, held during COVID, with only their most intimate circle present. But that didn’t make it any less joyful. After the vows, we shared cake and took family photos, all framed by the warmth and laughter that surrounded these two incredible men.
Then came my favorite part: a quiet stroll through Westerpark. Just the three of us. As the golden hour kissed the park’s green paths, Peter and Erik looked absolutely dapper in their suits. Their connection made photographing them effortless—there’s nothing quite like witnessing two people who feel completely at home with each other.
Two years later, Peter and Erik threw a big celebration with all their loved ones aboard a boat in Amsterdam—a joyful follow-up to their intimate wedding day. It was the perfect extension of their story: one that began quietly but expanded to include all the love they’ve built around them.
Working with Peter and Erik was an honor. Their trust, humor, and affection made documenting their story one of the highlights of my career.
As the photographer behind Snap Me Pretty, I proudly stand as an inclusive photographer based in Amsterdam and an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. Every love story deserves to be celebrated, seen, and honored—and I’m here for all of them, in every form they take.
If you're planning a small wedding in Westerpark, I’d love to be part of it. There’s beauty in intimacy, and sometimes, less really is more.
